80 Blocks from Tiffany’s

Well I’m not going to try to compete with Ed45′s fancy pants movie reviews, but if you’re like me and shows like Gang Land and Biker Wars take up 80% of your TV time you should check out 80 Blocks from Tiffany’s

If you like gangs and dislike cops, this is the a great documentary. 80 Blocks follows the infamous Savage Nomads and Savage Skulls gangs of the 1970s South Bronx. They don’t really do a whole lot except talk a bunch of shit and drink beers but it’s pretty entertaining. Since it’s actually an old ass film, the music and wardrobes (70s biker style-new school Jim Jones-Warriors style garb) are awesome and it’s filmed in that gritty 70s NYC style that looks dope on a plasma. The packaging for the DVD is great and includes a short book with a painting of some dude getting tortured and killed by the Skulls. Ouch

(Side note: In late 2009 I was in a bar with my pal Sleezy Trees and some of our friends when couple of Nomads walked in. They were definitely stunting. We had already seen about 3 fights in there at that point so we decided it was time to make our exit. We left and were amazed that they still exist)
