Food Food Food: Roxy’s Gourmet Grilled Cheese

Grilled cheese sandwiches are not tough. Only a fool would claim as such. What’s with the knuckle-crackin’ tough guy poses in Roxy’s press photos? Why does Roxy’s logo contain a Blood for Blood tattoo? Is it run or co-owned by someone in the band?  I don’t get it. Honestly, I don’t want to get it.

I got a classic cheddar and tomato sammy. For whatever reason, they call it a “Rookie Melt” on their menu. It was fine. Tasted like… wait for it… a grilled cheese. Nothing special and certainly not “gourmet” as they blatantly boast IN THEIR NAME. Thing is… the whole Roxie’s experience comes off as 100% pretentious. Not worth hunting down. Don’t bother.

Grilled Cheese Nation is next, kiddies. Not anticipating anything outstanding but I suppose I am expecting better than Roxie’s.
